Ghosts #1
Ghosts are memories that play tricks or haunt you.
I remember sitting here (somewhere), definitely on a bench that looked like one of these 14 years ago. I sat with friends and we created memories together but I can't seem to remember all of the details anymore. Every time I visit this park I am visited by a Ghost that plays tricks on me. What do memories look like?
Ghosts #1 began as a single collage of bench photographs, the same benches in the same park, again and again. At first they all look alike but the longer you look the more each one distorts in its own way.
For Blue Monday the collage hung at Art DeZout with a QR code pinned beside it. Whatever arrived, arrived and became part of the work.
A QR code was placed in the gallery so that participants could scan, upload a photograph of a bench, and have it printed and added to the work. The photographs that were added after the original artwork are from the community.
